Easy DIY Detox Water Recipes

Looking to make hydrating yourself more colourful, healthy and nutritious? Detox water is the perfect solution! For some people, consuming at least eight glasses of water throughout the day seems to be a task or is simply forgotten. Well, infusing savoury fruits, vegetables and herbs to your water will surely enhance the taste and make you want to drink more. Infused water is refreshing; it is generally packed with vitamins and antioxidants, adding to your daily nutritional content. We have put together 6 easy recipes to create your own vitamin water.

General instructions:

  • Use a glass jar or a special infuser bottle
  • Use ice-cold or room temperature water
  • Prior to drinking, let the water set for 1-2 hours at room temperature or for 3-4 hours in the refrigerator
  • Preferably use fresh fruits instead of frozen fruits
  • Do not infuse for over 8 hours, as the taste can become strong
  • Change citrus peels after 6-8 hours, as it can go bitter
  • Use 5 cups of water and (optional) 1 cup of ice

1. Strawberry, Lemon & Basil:

  • ½ cup sliced strawberries
  • 1 thinly sliced lemon
  • 5 torn basil leaves

2. Cucumber & Mint:

  • 1 thinly sliced cucumber
  • 10 torn fresh mint leaves

3. Watermelon & Basil:

  • ½ cup sliced seeded watermelon
  • 4-6 torn basil leaves

4. Orange, Blueberries & Ginger:

  • ½ cup blueberries
  • 1 thinly sliced lemon
  • 1 (2 inch) piece of freshly sliced ginger

5. Grapefruit, Pomegranate & Mint:

  • 1 thinly sliced grapefruit
  • ½ cup pomegranates
  • 10 torn fresh mint leaves

6. Pineapple & Lemon:

  • 1 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1 thinly sliced lemon
