Ever wondered if there was a tastier alternative to porridge? We did, and we found the answer. Baked Oats are a simple, yet versatile, delicious, cake-like breakfast guaranteed to start your day off right. Aside from a few key ingredients, baked oats have a huge advantage over many other recipes- you can make them your own, personalising them with all your favourite toppings!
- ½ cup oats
- ½ banana
- 1 egg
- 1tbs maple syrup
- 1tbs smooth peanut butter
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- ¼ cup almond milk
- Vanilla extract
- Chocolate chips
- Optional to add (before baking): frozen raspberries, frozen strawberries, extra chocolate chips, spread of choice.
Add the oats, banana, egg, maple syrup, peanut butter, almond milk and vanilla extract, and blend.
Add baking powder and blend again.
Top with chocolate chips and any other toppings of choice
Bake at 175 Degrees C, for 15-20 minutes, depending on preferred consistency
